A massive episode 45 has just hit your podcatcher and what an episode it was.

We kicked it all off with a huge thanks to Buzzsprout who we have chosen to host our podcast. The amount of work and goodwill from these guys to make their website truly accessible to all blind and visually-impaired podcast creators and users is immense and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

In the News:

  • This week, we started with TikTok and the possible ban being proposed by many countries.
  • Warren mentioned that Chromecast have finally sorted out their volume issues.
  • A survey for Pixel fans has been circulated by email, and we discussed the validity of this.
  •  Biometrics of credit card data is rolling out from Google making it unnecessary to type in the CVC to auto-fill.
  • Marco mentioned an article about Apple introducing the ability for iPhones to act as payment terminals.
  • Finally, Nimer mentioned that backing up the storage of Android phones, a previous Google 1 feature, is now free, and is coming to iOS devices.

Rooting and Installing Roms

During the main section of the cast, we discussed:
  • The difference between rooting and installing a ROM;
  • How to go about learning how to root or install a ROM;
  • Using XDA Forums as a resource for rooting and installing ROM's;
  • We concluded with some side-effects of both rooting and installing a ROM.

Listener Emails

We addressed a number of listener messages and emails this week. The questions were regarding caller ID apps, podcast apps, and audio recording apps.

Wrapping Up:
